INTENTION OF THE IDEA

I will focus on a small and short, but very emotional and dramatic story that happens during a very short moment, such as a moment falling from the sky or a building. Even though those moments are too short to recognize what is happening,
I believe there must be emotional and dramatic narratives among characters at the shortest moment.

According to the book, The Tools of Screenwriting,” there are two different types of drama, “Objective Drama” and “Subjective Drama.”

“Objective Drama” means the big and crucial accidents that everyone is able to recognize it is definitely dramatic events, such as Explosion by a gas leak or a bomb, Fire on a house or forest, Murder, Gun shooting, Bank robbery, Etc.

On the contrary, “Subjective Drama” is more personal and private, happening inside of someone’s mind. It could be a growing-up story or a story about a character who has overcome his trauma, or one about someone who is in his dilemma. What I want to try from this project with this Drama theory is to focus on the subjective drama which is happening while Objective drama is happening at the same time. If a girl and a boy are in the car being crushed by a car accident, you can focus on the shortest moment they can share before they have faced death. Even if the moment is too short to share any words between them, I believe there is something they can share through their own way or their eyes while the accident is heading to death. I believe they will share pure and true love with each other. To show the story to the audience, I think I need slow-motion shooting to show the shortest moments enough to understand what is happening and who they are, what they are sharing, Etc.

Good examples of this idea aren’t difficult to be found. One of the most iconic and recent examples of showing an accident, that happens in the shortest moment, in slow-motion effect is the scene from Amazing Spiderman 2.
